On the 1st of November 2018, Don Bosco Liluah, embarked on the third edition of its Annual Model United Nations Conference, titled Global Parliament. The three-day extravaganza kicked off with the inaugural ceremony in the school auditorium. Our Chief Guest for the day, Ma’am Saira Shah Halim, addressed the august gathering comprising delegates, high school students as well as other dignitaries and Executive Board members. Five committees were simulated in the third edition – General Assembly-DISEC, discussing translational organized crime. The committee was chaired by Aman Sinha and Arkopravo Hazra. The European Commission, discussing the global economic reunion of 2008, was chaired by the Secretary General Aaradhya Daga and Kumar Saurabh. The Historic Indian Cabinet discussing the agenda of Indian partition from the freeze date of 1947 was chaired by Ms. Vaibhavi Sharma Pathak and Sohom Sarkar, our Deputy Secretary General. The Security Council was chaired by Mohit Agarwal and Arihant Jain. The last committee chaired by Vaibhav Chaudhury, was The Global Media Summit
Three days of diplomacy, brainstorming, debating and lobbying culminated into a colourful and rich tapestry of the modern world, a world celebrated by the young delegates, highlighting the importance of giving voice to very unvoiced opinion. The prize distribution on the third day, paid rich dividends to three days of intense effort put in by the delegates. The third edition of the Global Parliament was indeed a grand success and has set a benchmark for the ensuing editions.
