“A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way,” said John C. Maxwell. Bearing this in mind, The Investiture Ceremony, 2017, of Don Bosco School, Liluah high school, was organised by the LTS movement on the 8th of May, 2017. The ceremony commenced with a reading from the Holy Bible followed by the march of the monitors of classes 6-12 and then the office bearers’ march, led by the school prefect, Subham Goyal, the vice-prefect, Vaibhav Chaudhary and the captains and vice-captains of the four houses. Marching tall behind the flag bearers, the leaders were epitomes of the pride and dignity their offices commanded.
As they took their positions on the stage, they were honoured with their respective sashes and badges by the guest of honour of the day, the rector of the institution, Rev. Fr. Biji Thomas and the principal, Rev. Fr. Sunit Kiro. The sacred flame of the lamp the office bearers then lit helped strengthen their bonds with their offices. The final lap of this ceremony comprised the official oath-taking conducted by the rector and the principal for the prefect and by the prefect in turn for the rest of the leaders. The prefect, Subham Goyal, in his speech, made carefully thought out promises for the forthcoming year. Following some hymns supporting the solemn occasion, the principal, Rev. Fr. Sunit Kiro proposed the vote of thanks, bringing the ceremony to a befitting closure.
