Boscotsav, the annual inter school fest of Don Bosco School, Liluah was held on 1st August 2014.  As every year, this year too, the core committee has embarked on the vivacious new motto “Where Passion Meets Platform” as the theme of Boscotsav 2014.  A total of 18 schools from Kolkata, Howrah and Hooghly fought it out for the best. The fourteen youth groups had been imbued with the responsibility of organizing the 30 events.  A staggering 1300 participants have competed in the spirit of fair play.  The fruit of the endless effort and hard work put in by the students and teachers, truly celebrated competition and fostered friendship and growth.

The day began with the traditional lighting of the lamp and an inaugural dance followed by a welcome speech by Rev. Fr. Rector at 9.00 am. Then the principal Br. Jose declared Boscotsav’14 open.  Soon began the events with the likes of Danshion (Dance+Fashion) for the juniors and the unconventional music in the newly built Savio wing.  While Bosco Admatazz saw hilarious ad-spoofs, Bosco-Tug-o-War was most cheered for.

The off-stage events like Quizzard, Crossword, Counterstrike, Two-minutes to fame too saw quite a lot of interest.  Bosco Rationale saw speakers tearing into each other with sound arguments but definitely what created a buzz was Bosco Fusion (Eastern and Western music) and Bosco Merge (Eastern and Western Dance).  The auditorium soon became a melting pot of cultures as schools showcased an amalgamation of various music and dance forms.  There were some surprises in stock such as the dance jig by the members of the finance and core committee along with the Presidents of the Youth Groups.  Following this was the Brochure for Boscotsav’14, released by Rev. Fr. Rector.

The participants waited with bated breath as the prize distribution ceremony got underway, recognizing winners and participants.  The best 3 teams were :

St. Joseph School, Chandannagar

Don Bosco School, Liluah

Don Bosco School, Park Circus

The day came to an end with the vote of thanks by Rev. Br. Bose, our Principal. With the cooperation of every participating schools, Boscotsav’14 was a gala extravaganza.
