An educational tour to Shantiniketan, Bakreswar and Massanjore was organised for the students of Classes 6 to 8.  It was a three day tour from 16th to 18th August 2013.

On 16th August, around 108 excited students along with 9 teachers and the Principal and Vice Principal of the school set out for Santiniketan, a town near Bolpur in the Birbhum district of West Bengal.  In Santiniketan, the students were taken to 'Amar Kutir' that promotes self-employment oppurtunities and they got a glimpse of the various handicrafts produced by the self-help groups.

On 17th August, they visited the Massanjore Dam, built across the Mayurakshi river in Dumka district of Jharkhand.  They were treated to a breath-taking view of the 2170 feet long dam and the surrounding forests and hills added to its beauty.  The next place was Bakreswar famous for its 8 hot springs.

On the final day, the students went to to the worls famous Visva-Bharti University, founded by Rabindranath Tagore in 1863.  Some important buildings like the prayer hall made of several coloured Belgium glasses, Santiniketan Griha, the oldest building of Santiniketan, Kala Bhavan that housed the museum were shown and explained by the guide. 

At the end of the three day trip the students returned cheerfully with the satisfaction of having visited an important place of West Bengal and spending enjoyable time with their friends.
