INDEPENDENCE DAY

The Independence Day celebrations began with the Holy Eucharist in the church at 6.30 a.m. which was followed by the flag hoisting ceremony at 8.00 a.m. Rector, Fr. Biji Thomas hoisted the flag in the presence of students, past pupils, parents, parishioners and teachers. It was a short and sweet programme comprising of a speech, a song and a message by Fr. Rector.  

Other events to mark India’s 66th Independence a cultural programme was held in the auditorium for the Adult Learning Programme students and their parents organized by the Alumni and a friendly football match between the Youth Group and Catholic Sabha members of St. John Bosco Parish, Liluah.  The students of Class 11- A visited Dum Dum Jail as part of their SUPW project, Class 11- C visited Presidency Jail on 16th and Class 11- B visited Midnapore Jail on 17th August 2013. 

After the flag hoisting ceremony, the Friends Youth Group organised a sit and draw competition for students of DBL from Classes KG to VIII.
