144 members of the DBL fraternity ( the Teaching and the Non-Teaching Staff ) set out in three buses at around 8 A.M of 22nd January, to enjoy a memorable day at Green Valley, a picnic spot in Garia that had been booked two months in advance for the occasion. The journey began with prayers conducted by the Fathers, followed by light refreshments being distributed to everyone on board. The ride was a good two hours, compounded by a traffic jam but the ordeal was well-compensated for, at the venue. The team was greeted by a piping hot breakfast that all had to their heart's content. This was followed by four interesting and amusing group games conducted by the Picnic Committee, in which there was much good natured 'cheating' and light-hearted bickering and bantering.  Each member of the winning groups earned a small, colourful gift. The larger gifts went to the winners of Housie, a perennial draw at staff picnics.  Games were followed by individuals and groups dispersing to explore the venue on their own, click photographs, chat or engage in music or dance. The appetite built up was satiated by a delicious and elaborate lunch buffet with an assortment of veg and non-veg dishes.  After lunch, a few group photographs of the picnickers and collection of the evening snacks and a fruit each, the group headed back home at around 4 p.m. - tired but happy.
