“The light of the world, the beacon in the dark and the hope that gives us strength to survive, is our teachers.”

Every year 5th of September, we celebrate Teachers’ Day.  It is a day filled with lots of excitement, joy and happiness as students are eagerly looking forward to tell their teachers how and why are they special to them.  There is a saying that teachers are greater than parents.  Parents give birth to a child whereas teachers mould that child’s personality and provide a bright future.  Apart from academics, teachers stand by us at every step to guide, motivate and inspire to become better people.

We at DBL began the day with the Holy Eucharist seeking the Almighty’s blessings on all associated with the school.  In the school assembly, the Principal, Fr. Sunit Kiro encouraged the students to make the day meaning for their teachers.  The class felicitation that followed marked their innate creative talents with much zeal.

The celebration in the auditorium began with great pomp and show.  The students from the junior, senior and technical section very enthusiastically put up a plethora of cultural programmes.  The programme reached its zenith when the teachers of the senior section left everyone awestruck with their mellifluous singing and the junior section teachers put up an impeccable dance performance for the students.

The programme ended with the Principal delivering his vote of thanks.  Replete with the celebrations,  thus drawing the curtains of yet another memorable Teachers’ Day.
