DON BOSCO HIGH SCHOOL, Liluah

CHANCE VACANCIES
2019-2020
BIODIVERSITY PROGRAMME

To take a step forward towards a greener Earth, the Leadership Training Service (LTS) Movement of Don Bosco Liluah organised a Biodiversity Programme, within the school campus, on 24 July 2018. We planned to plant a variety of 45 different kinds of plants in the school campus. In the afternoon of 24th July, after a short opening ceremony, the LTSers headed towards the school Church, to plant the saplings, guided by the Rector, Fr. Tomy Joseph, Principal, Fr. Sunit Kiro and Administrator, Fr. Antony Vayalil. The occasion was also graced by the presence of Rev. Fr. John Rogers, the promoter of LTS of South Asia. We also had St. Agnes' Convent School participating in this event, accompanied by their teacher-in-charge Ma'am Preeti Jain. The first of the saplings were planted by the Fathers, thus inaugurating the event. Consecutively all the saplings were planted beautifully in the background of the lush green fields by 10 LTSers from St. Agnes' Convent School and 54 LTSers from Don Bosco Liluah. This was a short step of ours towards a better planet and we hope to succeed in our mission of a greener Earth in the near future!

We would like to thank the Fathers for guiding and supporting us in this programme and our animators, Ma'am Rituparna Basu, Ma'am Sudipta Chowdhury and Ma'am Tinny Roy for initiating this event along with the group members. We also thank the Class 12 Bio-Science boys for helping us and classifying the list of the plants to be planted and those that were already there.
