The celebrations kick-started at 8.30 a.m with the welcoming of his Grace Archbishop Thomas D’Souza, the Salesian Provincial Fr. Thomas Ellicherial, other Salesians who have worked in the parish earlier, other  religious and the parishioners. There was a huge gathering of the faithful from Liluah, Chandmari, Bhattanagar and Joypur units. Besides the main celebrant, the Archibishop, there were 19 priests.

The highlight of the Eucharist was conferring the Sacrament of Confirmation on 32 children and 27 children receiving the First Communion. After the mass, there was a felicitation of the Archbishop and other dignitaries and a cultural programme put up by all the units. This was followed by lunch for all. The lunch was appreciated by all as it was like home-made food and all had enough. The entertainment quotient was raised by many bards when the guest performances by various groups and programmes based on the Gospel by the Parish Youth began at 5.00 p.m. The first to perform was “The Messengers”, a Kolkata Group which performed Rock n’ Roll in Hindi and Sadri. This was followed by a dance-drama by a group from Krishnagar. The penultimate item was a concert by Salem Group from Ranchi during which all could jig and shake-a-leg. The proceeding of the day ended with a fellowship meal for all.

We are grateful to God Almighty for bringing this day to a joyful conclusion.
