DON BOSCO HIGH SCHOOL, Liluah

PLATINUM JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS - DAY 1

8th December 2011 saw the grand inaugural ceremony of the Platinum Jubilee of Don Bosco Liluah. It was since then that the entire Don Bosco Liluah fraternity has been waiting for 1st December 2012, which marked the inauguration of the concluding ceremony of the Platinum Jubilee.

DBL campus wore a bridal look for this grand occasion. No sooner did the chief guest Mr. Rachhpal Singh, the minister in charge of  Planning and Development, Rev. Fr. Provincial  and other dignitaries arrive than the Choir extended a warm welcome with a welcome song. Fr. Biji Thomas, the Rector welcomed the eminent personalities and all the guests present for the day. This was followed by the Lighting of the Lamp to invoke the blessings of the ALMIGHTY and DON BOSCO. The vibrant rhythms of the welcome dance by the junior and senior school students added to celebration.

Readings from the various scriptures and Prayer dance added to the solemnity of the programme. Next was the Blessing of the Statue of Don Bosco by Provincial, Fr.  Thomas Ellicherail in the presence of all the dignitaries, parents and students. Then the Choir presented the Platinum Jubilee Theme Song. The formal conclusion of the day’s programme was a pleasant surprise through the presentation of the song ‘We are the world.’

This was followed by the  much awaited National Debate on the motion ‘OUR EDUCATION SYSTEM HAS FAILED THE NATION.’ The debate was chaired by Prof. (Dr.) Suman K. Mukherjee. Eminent speakers, war of words, loud applause…the debate surely was intellectually stimulating.
