DON BOSCO HIGH SCHOOL, Liluah

SENIOR INVESTITURE CEREMONY

If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.

On the 10th of May, 2016, the investiture ceremony was conducted with much fan-fare. The programme began with the lighting of the lamp. The school was privileged to have amidst the students an alumnus of Don Bosco School Liluah, Lieutenant General Rajiv Tewari, who graced the occasion.  He was accompanied by his spouse Mrs. Sonia Tewari and his subordinate, Lieutenant Commander Digvendra Singh.

After the chief guest had been welcomed, the chosen leaders comprising monitors and vice-monitors of the different classes, the captains and vice captains of the different houses and the school prefect and vice-prefect took their positions on the stage and on the ground before the stage for the swearing –in. A prayer set the mood for the day. After the prayer, the Rector Fr. Biji Thomas in his speech introduced the chief guest to the audience, who sat enthralled.

The Rector and the chief guest invested the school council members with their sash and badges and the Rector led the school prefect to take his oath of office. The school prefect then administered the oath of office to the other student leaders present. There was much enthusiasm among the audience to know who their guides would be.

After the oath taking ceremony, hymns suiting the ambience were sung by the school choir. When it was the turn of the chief guest to mount the podium and deliver his message, students applauded generously. The chief guest placed before the students the importance of working in a team.  He even through a presentation designed by him tried to impart the basic values a student should inculcate. A short clip on the army enthused the students. The students were also given an opportunity to interact with him by asking him questions.  The programme ended with the vote of thanks given by the Principal Fr. Sunit Kiro and the singing of the school anthem.
