RECTOR'S & PARENTS' DAY 2015 - DAY 2

The Rector’s & Parents’ Day of classes 2 to 5 was held on Saturday, 28th Nov, 2015. The programme commenced with the auspicious lighting of the lamp to invoke the blessings of God.

The choir consisting of boys of classes 3 to 5 began the day’s programme. After the welcome melodies, Fr. Rector, the chief guest for the day, gave his message to the parents with the advice of more proactive approach and engagement in handling their wards. Then the boys of classes 2 and 3  performed a prayer dance to seek the benedictions of the Almighty on one and all. The boys of class 2 presented a variety of programmes namely “Worship & Love”, “Dream Vs Desire”and “Rhythm Rockers”. They sang and danced to their heart’s content with perfect steppings and expressions.

It was now the turn of the class 3 boys to showcase their indomitable spirit and convey a great social message of prohibition of child labour through the dance drama “A Ray of Hope”. They also tapped their feet on a medley of Disco numbers which ended with a thunderous applaud.

The Principal’s report has always been an important aspect of the Rector’s & Parents’ Day. Fr. Sunit Kiro, the Principal gave a detailed report on the school’s growth from strength to strength. He even thanked the teaching fraternity, non-teaching staff, the office staff and everyone associated in making the day a success. Next, the meritorious students of ISC. ICSE, CVE & ITI toppers were felicitated. This year there were 3 Jubilarians – Ms Rina Hazra, Ms Jeanette Waters & Mr Gobindo Biswas,  who were felicitated for their dedicated 25 years of service.

The next item was presented by the boys of class 4 who expressed the beauty of nature in a classical dance form. They also presented “Heal the world” – a dance drama to depict our country’s  unity amidst its varied diversity. Class 5 students presented a dance drama “Man vs God”- an act which shows negotiation between God and man. 

This year the boys of Class 3, 4 and 5 displayed professional acumen through presentation of their dramas. Class 5’s English drama “Everybody’s Water” conveyed the message of importance of saving water. The Bengali drama by Class 4 and 5 “ Firey Dekha” was based on Tagore’s masterpiece “Kabuliwala”.  It was indeed a wonderful act and the boys did apt justice to the beloved bard’s immortal work through their acting and presentation skills. The boys of class 3 and 5 came up with a hilarious Hindi drama “Golmaal” which made the entire auditorium echo with laughter & happiness. The acting skills of the students were really commendable.

The choir concluded the day’s programme singing the Christmas Carols, ushering in the festive season. The day concluded with the vote of thanks from the Vice Principal Fr.Eugine, who extended his vote of thanks to each & every one and by singing our National Anthem.
