28 September 2015, the concluding day, began with the Holy Eucharist presided over by our Rector Major, other major superiors, provincials and a group of more than 100 priests. The theme was ‘on the way forward’ for the salesian family after the congress.

After a valedictory function and lunch, the entire gathering left for Netaji Indoor Stadium for the concluding programme.  Here, one could witness the rich and diverse culture of India, manifested through songs and dances by students and teachers from different salesian schools. The Chief Guest for the programme was Fr. Angel Fernandez Artime SDB, Guest of Honour, Dr. Amit Mitra, Finance Minister of West Bengal, Mr. Derek O’Brien, MP who read out message from Smt. Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, Archbishop Thomas D’Souza, Archbishop Emiretus Lucas Sircar and heads of various congregations.  The programme ended with a rocking performance by Sandeep Vyas, a Don Bosco alumnus.

We thank God that with his blessings, the Salesian Family Congress went off well.  We thank all our sponsors who helped us, all those generous people who made their homes available to accommodate the delegates.  A special word of thanks and appreciation to the Past Pupils Association who did a commendable job, especially in arranging for finances and logistics.  We put on record the guidance and leadership provided by Fr. Biji Thomas and other Salesians of Don Bosco Liluah, Fr. Pathickal and the community of Don Bosco Park Circus, Rev. Fr. Nirmal Gomes, our Provincial, Fr. James Mathew, our Vice Provoncial, all other Provincials, parents, teachers and all the participants.
